   Measure your dog’s length and height
   Measure from nose to base of tail while standing, and from floor to shoulder or head (whichever is taller). Add at least 5-10 feet of extra length and 6–12 inches of headroom so your dog can turn around and stretch comfortably.

   Consider your dog’s activity level and breed
   Active breeds (like Labs, Shepherds, or Huskies) need significantly more space to move, play, and lie down. Smaller or less active dogs can do well in a more compact kennel.

   Factor in multiple dogs or future growth
   If you have two dogs or expect your puppy to grow, size up generously. Each dog should have enough space to move independently without feeling crowded.

   Account for your available yard space
   Measure the area where the kennel will go. Leave at least 4–5 feet of clearance around the structure for easy access, maintenance, and a clean professional look.

   Choose predator-resistant features based on size
   Larger kennels benefit from full roof coverage and tighter “snake wire” mesh. Smaller runs can use our standard heavy-duty options while still staying fully coyote-proof.
